Employee Discount & On-Shift Meals

Free shift meal/drink and off-shift discount rules.

The Big Rule

Every meal and drink must be recorded. Failing to record a meal is treated as theft, even if the meal would otherwise be free.

On-Shift Meal

One (1) free meal per shift.
Must be recorded on the employee meal sheet.

On-Shift Drinks

One (1) drink per shift.
Must be recorded.
Must be consumed during the shift.
No alcohol while working or clocked in.

Food Safety (Always)

Drinks must be in a closed container with a secure lid.
Drinks allowed only in designated, approved areas.
No food or drinks on prep tables, cook lines, equipment, or food-contact surfaces.

Off-Shift Discounts

70% Standard

Employees working qualifying shifts receive 70% off food items when off the clock.

20% Limited Hours

Employees who don't meet the minimum weekly hour threshold receive 20% off food items when off shift.
Hour thresholds are set by management based on staffing needs.

Off-Shift Discount Rules

Off-shift discounts apply only to the employee.
Must be rung into the POS using the employee discount button.
No free food or drinks off shift.
No discounts for friends, family, or other employees.
No stacking discounts.
No taking discounted food for others.

Abuse & Enforcement

Abuse includes:

Taking food or drinks without ringing them in.
Failing to record on-shift meals or drinks.
Sharing free meals or discounts.
Using the wrong discount level.
Ringing items incorrectly or intentionally undercharging.

Consequences may include immediate loss of meal/discount privileges, and discipline up to and including termination.

Management Rights

Meals, drinks, and discounts are privileges, not wages. Management may modify, suspend, or revoke these benefits at any time. This policy does not create a contract or guarantee of employment.
